Capital Region Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing 5-Year-Old Enters Plea

A man from the region accused of sexually abusing a young child has formally answered to the charges against him.

John Ferrara, age 54, is accused of sexually abusing a child beginning when the victim was five years old.

Albany County resident John Ferrara, age 54, of Fuera Bush, pleaded not guilty to a felony count of predatory sexual assault of a child in Albany County Supreme Court Monday, Oct. 24.

Prosecutors said between February 2016 and June 2018, Ferrara engaged in sexual conduct against a girl who was between the ages of 5 and 8 at the time.

The abuse allegedly occurred at the River’s Edge apartments, located in the Village of Green Island on River View Drive.

Ferrara has been released under the supervision of probation while his case plays out.

His next court appearance has not been scheduled.
